The weather is to warm up this week, so I wanted to make sure I snapped a picture of a humongous snow giraffe in our neighbor's yard before it melted.

A bit of a lazy day.  Without the kids, we slept in and read the Sunday paper from front to back!  On the way to pick up the kids, we perused Best Buy and found some goodies.

Jacob requested some popcorn and helped make it:  1/3 cup popcorn with a tablespoon of butter in a paper bag.  Fold the top and microwave about 2-1/2 minutes.  Shake some salt in a bowl while the corn is popping.  Pour the popped corn in the bowl, add more salt and shake around. YUM!  Jacob ate the whole bowl!

The day was spent prepping for a party:  My gray roots got colored.  The children were passed off to the grandparents for the night.  Helped my good friend set up a surprise 40th birthday party for her husband.  This entailed picking up balloons, subs, a cookie cake, and pushing two overflowing carts through Meijer.  Then, the set up!  Jason was surprised and a good time was had by all!

I was about to start taking down Christmas decorations when I got an email from the library to tell me some requested items were in.  That's all it took for me to bolt from my chores and head out the door!

When I woke up this morning, I had no idea the day would include bowling!  I asked the kids at breakfast what they wanted to do on their last day of Christmas break.  Without hesitation, Jacob said, "Let's go bowling!"  And, we did.  And, brought a couple friends, too.  It was Kendall's first time and she beat us all!  :)  Next time, the kids say they would like go bowling with Dad.

Let's give this another go.  A picture a day for 2013.  We ushered in the new year with some good friends last night; the kids played with their friends most of the day, and we topped off the holiday with a delicious meal at the in-laws:  ribs, potatoes, sauerkraut, green bean casserole, orange jello salad, and creme d'menthe pie.  Yum.
